Are you looking for real life Dragons? Well, the Komodo dragon is one of the largest species of lizard found in the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Padar. These powerful and strong animals have been known to take down a large buffalo and even humans. I mean if most of us did not know much better you could say that some of the myths about these types of animals and dragons are similar. Let’s take a quick look.
Firstly they are dangerous to humans and large animals.
Secondly they use a dangerous poison in there saliva which can be used by spitting and is said to be like acid and burns almost instantly.
Thirdly, even a small bite is dangerous and untreated leads to death.
Lastly, they are a large lizards and like all animals in the reptile family occasionally they are susceptible to Gigantism meaning sometimes they can be much bigger. Imagine a 10 ft Komodo or larger.

Now, one could also ponder on how these animals were in the mega fauna time period, similar to crocodiles they could of been 3 to even maybe 4 times there size ( maybe more ). Now, how much does that sound like a dragon? Could this be where some of the myths came from?
